Scholars in Residence

Since 2004, Shangri La has hosted Scholars-in-Residence whose work complements the collection while also advancing the study and understanding of Islamic arts and cultures. Selected scholars pursue their own academic research and may contribute a paper to the online academic series Shangri La Working Papers in Islamic Art. In addition, scholars present public programs, such as lectures and workshops, for a local audience and may also film a short video clip for Scholar Favorites.
