The Director of Content & Engagement is a strategic leader, with digital and content strategy experience, a strong background in digital media and engagement and a passion for impactful storytelling.
Position Overview
Shangri La, a leading cultural institution in Hawaii, is seeking a Director of Content & Engagement to drive the transformation to a global center for personal and societal transformation. This individual will lead the creation, execution and management of comprehensive live and digital content strategies, enabling the institution to reach, engage and influence diverse global audiences. The Director will oversee a team of five, including three direct reports, and will play a critical role in connecting the institution's unique physical space with a multi-channel content strategy.
Responsibilities
Develop and oversee a multi-channel content strategy focused on digital, streaming and social media.
Lead the creation of high-quality content and serialized programming, ensuring timely and budget-compliant production.
Increase audience engagement and grow followers through strategic partnerships and event-driven initiatives.
Utilize analytics tools to measure content effectiveness and provide actionable insights.
Collaborate with the foundation's teams and manage external vendors for cohesive communication and efficient processes.
Provide leadership and strategic direction for the Content and Engagement team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Integrate the institution’s collection into contemporary storytelling to capture new audiences.
Enhance internal communications to keep staff informed about content, events, partnerships and community outreach initiatives.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency in content and engagement activities.
Serve on the foundation's management group to coordinate strategy implementation and provide feedback on program effectiveness.

Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated hiring salary range is $130,000-$162,000, and the final offer will depend on experience.
Industry-leading benefits, including a 15% employer contribution to 401(k), health insurance, four weeks paid vacation with additional time off and matching gift benefits of up to $20,000 per year, all to support employees’ well-being, productivity and engagement.
