Morris Rossabi
February 25 - March 14, 2008
While in residence, Morris Rossabi, an expert on the history of East and Central Asia, was writing a book on the topic of Islam in Asia to be published by Oxford University Press. Taking advantage of Shangri La’s contemplative and quiet environment, Dr. Rossabi primarily spent his residency preparing this book manuscript and with his particular interest in visual culture, he explored the Shangri La collection for objects suitable to his research. Dr. Rossabi holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University and is a Professor of History at Columbia University and also City University of New York.
