HoMA Members: In partnership with the Honolulu Museum of Art, limited preview tours for HoMA members will begin September 9th, on Thursday - Saturday at 11:00am and 1:00pm. Learn more below.

    Public Tours

    Tours of Shangri La begin and end at the Honolulu Museum of Art. HoMA member preview tours begin September 9th, running Thursday - Saturday at 11:00am and 1:00pm.

    Advance reservations are required ($5.00 processing fee will be included).

    Tours are limited to a capacity of 10 persons or less in accordance with Hawaii State Guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all visitors and staff.  Masks and proof of vaccination or negative Covid-19 test are required.  

    Shangri La will reopen to the public Fall 2021.

  • Residency

    Kamran Samimi

    Kamran Samimi grew up in rural Laupāhoehoe on Hawai‘i Island, with an Iranian/Scandinavian background. Since 2008, his work has been shown extensively around Hawai‘i, the continental US, Australia, and Japan. He holds a BFA in printmaking and an MFA in sculpture and print media from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
