Shangri La hosts artists, cultural producers and thought leaders from around the world in its immersive residency program. Museum curators collaborate with participants to develop new work, deepen community engagement and demonstrate Shangri La’s connection to local and global conversations and concerns. Shangri La’s Residencies are an invite-only experience managed by the museum's curatorial team.

Ayodele Drum and Dance
Chicago-based performing artist collective Ayodele Drum and Dance was featured in a Shangri La Residency from February 14-23, 2020. “Ayodele” is a Yoruba word that means “joy in the home” and the sister-circle collective of performing artists fosters community from a feminine perspective through diasporic African drum and dance, using the artform to heal, educate and motivate in an unending circle firmly rooted in joy.February 14, 2020 - February 23, 2020
